The differences between Adobe InDesign and Premier Pro software are very diverse and need lots of time to get be successful in each. To begin with InDesign from the tutorial video that was assigned it gave the basics of the program. However, the manipulation of images was not as easy as they made it look in the video. “Dansky” just breezes through a few clicks to upload an image and resize it with a double click to crop (Dansky). Due to my increased knowledge in Adobe Photoshop this easy task was not accomplished in InDesign. The easy things to manipulate and create were the text boxes and objects. Creating drop shadows around an object you click object then effect and drop shadow. This program was not the one I will choose to deliver my story for my final portfolio project. Photoshop will allow me to accomplish the same amount of professionalism as InDesign will with the same complex gradients and shadows. There was one feature that was very useful and that was the paragraph tool that will adjust your text box in a variety of sizes. This is a great feature for creating a magazine article and is not a feature that Photoshop provides. I tried to create a magazine cover with my cow and put a title under it. The title was accomplished with ease and the image was huge and resizing was not working out well. There is a learning curve I discovered with InDesign.

Moving on to Premier Pro was a big step up from my comfort zone for Adobe programs. Video manipulation is a bit tricky, but this video makes it seems a little bit easier to use. The main tools you will use are the selector tool and the razor tool to trim the video (Kriscoart). This tutorial is great for the basics and I was able to create a video with spliced videos of my cow and pigs together to create a video about my 4H projects. This year the state fair is requiring me to have it for them to use in a commercial for the Florida State Fair. The features that were easy to use were the layering that was similar the Photoshop layers with the audio, video, and even invisible layers that will change the effects in the whole video if you add an effect to it. This could change the colors by selecting the effects control panel and clicking fast color corrector. This feature lets you change the colors of video in the sections you select. The effects are drag and drop on to the layers and will autosave for you too. The integration in this program is much more effective than the many video editing apps there are on the market. This will help me create a video and edit it for my portfolio I am creating this year.
